MA graduates from Switzerland and abroad can enroll in the PhD program in Linguistics. Applicants are required to hold an MA or an equivalent degree (e.g. Lizentiat) in linguistics as well as a PhD project in linguistics.

The MA degree can be with either a major or a minor in one of the following fields: General Linguistics, English Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, German Linguistics, Scandinavian Linguistics, Indo-European Studies, Classical Philology, Sinology, Philosophy, Romance Linguistics and Slavic Linguistics. Applicants should have earned at least 30 ECTS points in linguistics as part of their MA degree.
